Finding the right support for your child

Every child is different, and so is the support they need.

At You Nutrition Clinic, our job is always to ask why. Why is this happening? What could be contributing to it? And what might be going on beneath the symptoms we can see?

For some children, those questions lead us towards a more focused area of support. For others, we need a broader, staged approach that allows us to explore several interconnected areas of their health and development over time.

That is why Jess and Clare offer two ways of supporting your child: Hello You and Hello World.

You don’t need to know exactly which one your child needs before coming to us. If it feels clear, you can explore the option that sounds most like your child below. And if it doesn’t, our initial case review gives us the time to understand what is going on and guide you towards the most appropriate support.

Here is our decision tree to help you to determine the best programme for your family member:

Hello You

Focused paediatric nutritional support

Let’s focus on what’s going on for your child.

Hello You is our focused paediatric nutrition pathway for children who have a particular area of their health, nutrition or eating that needs some extra support. We don’t simply look at the symptom in front of us.

We ask why it might be happening, exploring your child’s nutrition, eating patterns, digestive health, nutrient intake, lifestyle and wider health history to build a picture of what may be contributing.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Are mealtimes becoming a daily source of stress?

Perhaps your child eats a very limited range of foods, refuses new foods or you’re worried they’re simply not getting what they need.

Does your child regularly struggle with constipation, tummy aches, bloating or unpredictable bowel movements?

You’re wondering why it keeps happening rather than simply how to manage it when it does.

Does your baby or child struggle with reflux or digestive discomfort?

Perhaps you’ve tried different approaches but still feel you haven’t got to the bottom of what’s driving it.

Are you constantly reaching for the eczema cream, only for the flare to come back again?

Or are allergies, sensitivities or other immune symptoms leaving you wondering whether something else could be contributing?

Does your child seem to pick up every bug going?

Perhaps infections feel constant or they seem to take longer than other children to bounce back.

Are you worried about your child’s growth or nutrient intake?
Maybe blood tests have identified a nutrient deficiency, their diet is very limited, or you simply want reassurance that they’re getting what they need to grow and thrive.

Sometimes you don’t have a diagnosis or even a clear name for what’s worrying you. You simply know that something doesn’t feel quite right and you’d like someone to take the time to understand why.

That’s what Hello You is for.

We take the time to understand your child, investigate potential nutritional and lifestyle contributors and create a personalised, practical plan that works for them and for your family. Where appropriate, nutritional testing and targeted supplementation can also be considered.

Continuous support

Hello You is offered as a continuous support programme, giving us time to understand your child, see how they respond and adapt their plan as their needs change. As part of this support programme, parents are given access to our paediatric nutrition first aid kit.

 £175 per month, including:

- An initial 1-hour comprehensive assessment and information gathering session

- One 1-hour or two 30 minute consultations every month

- Quick questions answered between consultations through our online portal

- Access to the Parent's Nutritional First Aid Programme and Community

Breakfast With Family

Hello World

Whole-child support when there’s more going on

This is particularly suited to neurodivergent or suspected neurodivergent children, those with significant restrictive eating or ARFID, and children with PANS/PANDAS or other neurological or neuroimmune presentations.  Often, it isn’t just one thing. Eating, digestion, sleep, immune health, sensory needs, development and behaviour may all be part of the picture. And that matters, because what looks like several separate problems may not be separate at all.

Hello World allows us to look at how the brain, gut, immune and nervous systems may be interacting, helping us understand why your child may be struggling across different areas, rather than approaching each symptom in isolation. Your child doesn’t need a diagnosis to belong here. If there are multiple concerns that
don’t seem to fit neatly together, this may be the right place to start.

Does this sound more like your child?

Is your child autistic, ADHD or suspected to be neurodivergent?

Perhaps you’re also navigating eating difficulties, digestive symptoms, sleep, sensory differences or emotional regulation.

Has eating become significantly restricted?
Perhaps your child’s range of accepted foods is becoming smaller, sensory differences make eating particularly difficult, or ARFID has been diagnosed or suspected.

Do lots of seemingly unrelated things seem to be happening at once?
Perhaps difficulties with digestion, sleep, immunity, sensory processing or regulation seem to overlap, without one clear explanation.

Have you noticed a significant or sudden change in your child?
Perhaps there has been regression, new anxiety, tics, compulsions or OCD-type behaviours, particularly following an illness or infection.

Are you navigating PANS/PANDAS or another neuroimmune presentation?
Or are you simply trying to make sense of a child whose needs seem to span several different areas?

This is where the broader Hello World framework can be particularly valuable.

A staged approach

Hello World is not about changing everything at once. We start with foundations and build gradually, allowing us to see how your child responds before deciding what comes next.

For children who are particularly sensitive to changes in food, supplements, environment or routine, this slower, more considered approach can be especially important. Nutrition, lifestyle and therapeutic supplementation may all form part of your child’s plan, but recommendations are always individualised.

Our aim is not to treat a label or diagnosis. It is to understand and support the individual child behind it.

For many families, Hello World is a longer-term journey, with regular practitioner support allowing the plan to evolve alongside their child.

Continuous support with no big initial payment

Hello World is offered as a continuous support programme, allowing us to work through the stages gradually, regularly review how your child is responding and adapt their support as we go.

Still not sure? That’s completely okay.

Children don’t always fit neatly into categories, and you shouldn’t need to work out which type of support your child needs before asking us for help. Perhaps there are behavioural or emotional changes alongside digestive symptoms. Maybe eating is becoming increasingly restricted. Perhaps sleep has deteriorated, infections seem to trigger changes, or there are several things happening that you can’t quite connect.

An initial case review gives us the time to take a step back and build a fuller picture.

We’ll explore areas including your child’s:

Eating and nutrition
Digestion and bowel health
Immune health
Sleep
Development
Behaviour and emotional regulation
Sensory presentation
Wider health and medical history

From there, we’ll recommend whether Hello You or Hello World is the most appropriate pathway and explain what the next steps could look like. You don’t need to arrive knowing what your child needs. It’s our job to guide you.
