Kirstie and Deborah have a combined 40 + years of experience in health and nutrition and bring a unique combination of conventional and functional nutritional approaches to their practice. Together, they designed, implemented and for 10 years managed a nationwide dietetic and nutrition department for the UAE Armed Forces and National Service Programme.
They returned to the UK to focus on their passion for functional and integrative nutritional therapy and established You Nutrition Ltd in 2020, which offers one to one clinical support to individuals with a variety of health concerns, and bespoke nutrition and lifestyle consultancy including health in the workplace, healthy schools initiatives, programme development, monitoring and evaluation, and research, to UK-based and international organisations.
Kirstie is an AfN registered Nutritionist with a PhD and a BSc in Public Health Nutrition from QMU Edinburgh. Having then completed a further 3 years of study at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), she is also a BANT and CNHC registered Nutritional Therapist, working predominantly with children, adolescents, and young adults. Her main area of interest clinically is brain health, and in particular, the emerging field of nutritional psychiatry. She also has a specialist interest in Parkinson's disease.
In addition to her clinical work, Kirstie has over 20 years of experience in developing and delivering a wide range of nutrition and lifestyle interventions, both in the UK and internationally, and has also held educational, research-focused, and advisory roles for numerous charities, NGO’s and Government entities. She is the lead for Public Health Nutrition at Real World Health (www.realworldhealth.net)
In her academic capacity, Kirstie is the Module Coordinator for the Functional Nutrition, Gastrointestinal health and Detoxification, and Immune Health modules on the UK's first Graduate Diploma in Integrative and Functional Nutrition, delivered by the Institute for Optimum Nutrition, in collaboration with Portsmouth University. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Nutritional Medicine Institute and Journal (www.nmi.health).
Deborah is an HCPC Registered Dietitian (RD) and a BANT registered Functional Nutritionist, with an MSc in Nutrition from the University of Ulster and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics at Cardiff University. Deborah has also completed her FODMAP training through Monash University in Australia, and completed her Sports Nutrition training with the Australian Institute of Sport.
Deborah has a 20-year career history both in the UK and internationally, including research, consultancy, programme management, and clinical practice. Deborah's main area of focus is female health, including preconception, pregnancy, and infertility.
